26.2

A few years ago, my (B) parents gave me a running shirt that said 26.2 on it. I was adamantly opposed to wearing the shirt because I had never completed a marathon and earned the right to wear the shirt.

That's about to change. I've decided to join Team in Training (TNT) to train for the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in San Diego on June 6. That's right, 26.2 miles. It'll take a lot of training, which is why I decided to join the Team in Training group. I'll be running/walking with other people and it will give me access to coaches and trainers. They have different pace groups and even a walking group.

So why am I doing this?

1. Because I can. There're many people out there who physically can't. I can think of a lot of excuses why not to (it'll take a lot of work, there may be times it's painful, it'll be time consuming...), but those aren't good reasons not to.

2. It'll give me a goal to work toward as I'm waiting to hear back from PhD programs. Even if I don't get into any this year, I can work toward completing this goal instead.

3. I'll be raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS)

Part of working with TNT includes raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. You can find out how you can help me by searching for my (first name 'E') fundraising page here:
