A couple weeks ago I joined a running group to train for a half marathon. The race is on May 3. I've never been able to run more than 4 miles without injuries popping up, so this should be interesting. So far, week 2 is going well. We're running 3 days during the week with a 'long run' on Saturday.
Now, I need to build up my running playlist. Anyone have any suggestions? Here's my playlist so far:
Down on the Corner: John Fogerty
You, Me, and the Bourgeoisie: The Submarines
Queen of Hearts: Juice Newton
Paper Planes: MIA
The Anthem: Good Charlotte
California Sun: The Ramones
Cecilia: Simon and Garfunkel
Sandstorm: Darude
Disturbia: Rihanna
I Believe in a Thing Called Love: The Darkness
Be My Yoko Ono: Barenaked Ladies
I'm open to any suggestions!!

I have paper planes too! I have Love Lockdown from kayne west, Wondering Stars from Portishead, Mama said Knock You Out, Hush from Deep Purple
You need more songs the longer you run. I the above songs are about 5 minutes each so it's nice that it's around a half of mile when you are done.
Do you listen to music with your running group?
Wow Congrats - and best of luck! I find that Manic - Michael Sembello (Flashdance) has a good running beat! I also like inspriational songs that really get you in the mood to kick butt! Although I can't think of any off hand!

Good ideas! I bring my nano and keep it very low. As the miles increase, I'm going to be running slower than my pace group, so music will become more important.
I know there are more people who have music suggestions... don't be shy!

Do you have "Long May You Run" by Neil Young? A little different meaning from the running you will be doing but..... you can think of it in terms of your task at hand.
I don't think I have that, but I can get it!
Who else/what else?

that's funny b/c I also have noticed Be My Yoko Ono as a good workout song...very fast...that's funny that E has Mama said Knock You Out!
Katie Holmes said she listened to "stronger"-kanye west?? when she ran a marathon
I also find a lot of Katy Perry songs good-hot and cold is fast...
guster song-come downstairs and say hello can be good...it starts off Really slow and then speeds up, so may be good for warming up?
