OK, so it's Sunday today and I'm just getting up my random thoughts. I'm a few days behind per usual. Without further delay:
1) Why is it numbers aren't scaled properly? Can you really compare 500,000 people today with 500,000 in 1974? Isn't the population up 75%? Can you compare $ sales of movies tickets from 1977 and 2008? Titantic isn't even close to the top grossing film of all time.
2) If the price of oil is down about 70%, why is FedEx raising rates almost 6%?
3) Why should we give loans to companies that "do not have substainable business models"? Isn't that what got us in trouble in the first place?
4) Speaking of gas, it's amazing to see gas for $1.69 a gallon when it was $4.69 a gallon just 3 months ago. Of course, now I don't really drive anywhere or heat a home.
5) What are the chances of me getting all of my rebates this year?
What are your random thoughts?

Why is it 15 degrees today but will be 50 degrees on Wednesday?
If someone from the Blue Man Group married a yellow person, would they have green babies?
Isn't the Chrysler situtation feeling like a deja vu? Oh how old were you in '79'?
Many of us are not driving as much anymore but for different reasons.
I don't ever want to get an amoeba in my ear.
